Those who have been on my friends list of my many social networks, now know I have been using STUMBLEUPON and I would hope have come up with some interesting subjects to blog about.

So today I thought to look up a HOW TO on blogging.  These sites come up randomly, so enjoy and hope someone will get something from all this.

The first to get stumbled upon is “ONE COOL SITE:blogging tips” where you can find several good ones in the categories. Here is the actual tips and Blog Directories for Backlinks and Traffic. Also of interest and loaded with lots of information is How To Be A Better Blogger Pts 1, 2, and 3. which is followed by 4, 5, and 6  The LINKS and RESOURSES may come in handy, so bookmark those two pages for reference later.  I know this blogger is on twitter, found her link and here are her post having to do with twitter. I do want to send my best to “froggie” hope it’s life has been long and happy, losing a pet can be hard at times.

Now I could stay on the same site all day, but lets get back to STUMBLE UPON, so who will it be next?  SKELLIEWAG comes up as a The Pocket-sized Guide to Blogging and as I always say, judge for yourself. Take what you want and pass the rest on.  I like the yellow truck which takes you to the Mecanics. Does give you a link for DailyBlogTips. I do figure this one has been at it a long time, just look at the Archives. This one is also found on Twitter. Wonder if Blogging and Twitter are going together like peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies, etc, You get the picture…

Well the next one doesn’t work for me, as soon as it loads, here comes this sliding window which is way to big and I can’t get to any X mark to close it…so on to the next.  I just hate those things! I found a SEMI-PRO Blogger giving instrutions on how to write the perfect blog.

Here is eHOW and several articals on blogging,

What of safety? Check it ou-only the one with the arrested blogger is not a working link!

Along comes another twitter, with 40 Ways to Deliver Killer Blog Content and the BEST OF.

Now I have heard of this next one, the Blog Herald . Check here  if you think you don’t have anything to blog about!. Do look over the articals listed at bottom of the post for more interesting reading. This is another site I could stay on all day, but must keep moving if we care to STUMBLE UPON another,

On to learning about Blog Traffic Exchange with the 2nd pt link here

Blogging Information says it all with several dozen articals to read and learn from.

You can find the 23 DO’s and DON’Ts of blogging here

Now here is one that is easy on the eyes about BLOGGLED

Well lookie at the time, been going at this for several hours, before you go, check out my \other two blogs, along with this one . They are my GENEALOGY and my newest blog about Grandparenting

I enjoy doing my blogs this way, just looking for links and passing them on with my 2cents mixed into it.

Now what will it be we stumble upon next time?

Finally back online here at the rooming house in my own little corner of the world.

After getting my tax refund, after not getting one for past several years and having to pay the government it is always nice to get money back, now isn’t it. So now the question is just HOW TO SPEND IT!

Been wanting to get online here at the house for some time now, so went to ALLTEL which they now have a new website.  The first card they tried on my ACER Mini was something called the Hawian but the mini just wouldn’t let it load on the machine.  So the the card I am now using is UTStarcom UM175

*PLEASE NOTE- ALLTEL WAS BOUGHT OUT BY VERIZON

So now I can go online during my days (actually nights) off during the hours of 10pm-7am which no library is open. Now I am not knocking  the library and the great service it has, but ….well goe read my take on the whole thing here.

Now all I need is help with how to down load some CD of mine to a Magnavox 2GB Digital audio player…………..guess I answered my own question, finally got one of my CD;s on the player, now to get down to business of getting my favorite music on this thing.

 Just catching up

I see I haven’t been here since TAX day the 15th of APRIL , been busy.  Have worked on the genealogy blog I moved from here,You can still catch up with my link posting at TWITTER,  also got another going for “Grandparents“  which I have also started one on Twitter for the “just-being-grandma

Now that TAX day has come and gone, and yes I did wait till the last minute and won’t be getting the $ for about 3weeks.  At least this year I am getting something back!  Not much, but have already started a list of how and what I will spend it on.  Only thing is-things keep popping up that need to be taken care of just to survive!

Did get an email from a cousin in Calif who I call her mom about every other week or two .  Been long over due in calling, now I might not be able to talk with my favorite aunt.  Been told she is now worse and has live in care taker….am thinking of the family and my uncle in prayers.

Found out son who is in army in TEXAS is heading for Germany so don’t know when I will see him again.

Thanks to internet, have found another long lost cousin on dad’s side….did this through classmates and she no longer lives where she went to school.

Am hoping to get an aircard for my computer so I won’t have to be heading to library every day, only during daytime hours.  I work at night and my day(night) off I would like to be on the computer .

copyright 2007
PeachPit Press-Berkeley,Calif.
ISBN# 0-321-44972-X
Book is about $19.99 US, $24.99 Canada $13.99 UK

5 chapters covering fames short 15 to 30 minutes to an hour of the when where why and what to write in a blog. And maybe a little of How to!

A list of my favorite which may find their way into a blog would be “Count Your Blessings” I have 3+2 that I can state off the top of my mind, “Get Nostalgic”, by just remembering childhood times, and memories such as the simple question like “where were you when kennedy was shot or the challenger exploded?” “Give Us Your Scrapes” where you pass on those notes, news articals, links, etc.,or just “Spread The Word” about whatever-whenever anything is happening ,”Take Inventory”, remember those lists, things to do, shopping ,and the wish lists? just to name afew. Or what about toward the end of the book in the last chapter there is a page for “STALKING”-now this isn’t what you might think, more in the area of People watching , jotting your thought down,

I found the book interesting just by looking over the Table of Contents, some being so intrigued I had to check the pages out for myself. Example, Chapter 1 has page 23 entry of FESS UP with the word “SCHADENFREUDE” which I will have to look up because I just don’t know the defention of this word. But maybe it has to deal with what page is, Dealing with your short comings and failures and putting them in a blog Just remember “To Err is Human, BUT to Share? DIVINE!”

I am think of writing a OPEN LETTER to retail consumers giving advise on how to behave , because thier actions and attitudes have alot to do with the costomer service they recieve. This comes from chapter 1 page 10 titled “Talk Back”. Writing about what you think from what you see, heard, or read about. Make sure you include the source of info you are writing about. Most newspapers today on on the web, as well as TV stations have websites you can link to. I like to use several search engines to get and use different links for what the subject I am writing about.

CURATE the Web? what is that, Again, chapter 1 page 13 gives you the idea of adding or linking to someone else’s blog or comment from your blog. You can add or point out err or another view point on an oringial blog post. Again you will need to have some link or links to back your findings so not to look foolish but then that is where Chapter 3 page 57 “Hang Your Head” would help.

Defend the little guy or that large corporation which may or may not be indefendable. Use your blog as a SoapBox to state your case for or against the item, issue or just what is on your mind. “GET DEFENSIVE” chapter 3 page 66 or just “TAKE SIDES” from the next page 67 Making it impressive with links of your research while talking about your own conclusions, letting your readers draw their own.

Here is an idea I have been wanting to do myself. “HIT THE STACKS” chapter 4 page 77 and even gives you a website to catalog and categorize your books as a virtual shelf, your own library where you keep track of the books you may have read from the library (which I do alot) or the ones you own (this will come in handy for my collection of books by subject or authors) Here is the link for the library online tool http://www.librarything.com/ or just keep track of that endless collection of links you want to look back to at another time ( which I am apted to doing) is another idea from chapter 4 page 82. Or page 86 “PUT IT ASIDE” by making your own time capsule which can be seen years from now showing what life was like “back in the good ole days?!” Be creative and of course once you have it all collected, burn it to a CD for added measures.

Be an Expert chapter 4 page 87 I may someday share a medical issue which I live with daily and after 7yrear I feel I am somewhat of an expert on the subject. The pro and cons and would I do it all over the same or not at all. Do wish I had done it sooner (that blog will be sometime in the future)

Now I do give this book 5*****stars out of 5 This artical has been written just from the table of contents and I haven’t really read the book. This is how I judge a the book I plan to read, that second to the index….AND I haven’t even looked at the idex of this one.(which just might turn up in a blog somewhere!). Now while here at the local library doing this artical, I came across the actual book called “HOW TO TALK ABOUT BOOKS YOU HAVEN’T READ” (another blog entry to come  in the future!)

NOW remember the word earlier in this post “SCHADENFREUDE” ? I did look it up, german noun for malicious gloating pleasure Source is the READER’S DIGEST GREAT ENCYCLOPEDIC DICTIONARY 10th printing 1975 printed by Funk and Wagnalls Publishing Company,Inc.

Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others
