 The Color of Money

You are probably thinking, I know what color money is; “Green” Well, that is true but here are a few tidbits about money and ink.

As mechanical copying and printing became more popular, new inks were developed. A special green ink was invented in 1857 by American chemist Thomas Sterry Hunt. It resisted attack by acids, bases, and other chemicals. It couldn’t be reproduced accurately in a photograph - and so was used to print US currency.

I guess we know that Ink, will never be obsolete. Unfortunately for those of you who may be thinking “If I could just print off some money for these holidays, I would be just fine.” We at Printer Products Etc. do carry a green ink:

CanonĀ® Compatible BCI-6G

You can use it to print your Christmas cards but we would not advise trying to print any kind of money. If you tried that, I think the Federal Reserve may be forced to tell you to “Show me the Money”.
