One of the main themes of the Republican campaign is that “We don’t have time for on-the-job training”. I’ve put a lot of thought into this, and here is what I came up with:
** Except for second-term presidents, which men DID have presidential experience before they became president?
** Of the presidents who occupied the White House in modern times, how many of them who had experience still botched things up?
** Of the recent presidents with limited previous experience, how many of them did a good job?
** Does “experience” mean having the willingness and desire to be combative with other nations?
** How many presidents actually made unilateral decisions, using their vetoe power often and randomly? (I can think of one, off-hand. ;-0 )
** What are the presidential advisors for, if not to advise when needed?
** Shouldn’t the president be someone who sees the big picture, and understands that America is not the only great country and the one superpower, and who also understands that we need to join forces with all other nations; we are a world of people, not a world of countries?
** Does America expect a god to occupy the White House, or a mortal?
** Personal integrity and awareness should be included in our criteria for choosing a president.
** We expect things out of our government that a government cannot do, such as create rules and laws that should be left up to either the people as a whole, or individuals.
** If we genuinely and deeply understood how things work, we would collectively take more personal responsibility. We would understand that we are not a country of Me’s, but a collective consciousness. What one thinks, feels, and does, effects everyone.
** We as individuals do have the power to take control of our country, by refusing to buy into everything the media says.
** It’s time to stop being sheep and start behaving as if we can create what we see in the world. Otherwise, how can we possibly complain about what happens to us?
